Tonka Bean is one of the finest perfume ingredients for fixation of natural perfumes. The absolute is obtained from Dipteryx odorata, a large tropical tree native to Brazil, Guyana, and Venezuela, also cultivated in Nigeria and elsewhere in West Africa.
Tonka Bean is used as a non-floral sweetener for introducing warm notes in chypres, fougères, new mown hay bases, Oriental bases, Lavender bouquets, etc.
NOTE: Tonka Bean is not recommended for therapeutic purposes; it is intended for use in perfumery only.

As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier.)
