Description

Myrrh Resinoid – Pure Commiphora myrrha, Directly from Our India Factory

Myrrh is one of the oldest aromatic materials in human history. It appears in ancient Egyptian embalming preparations, in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran, in Ayurvedic texts, in the incense traditions of the Middle East, and in the gift brought to Bethlehem. Across thousands of years and dozens of civilizations, people who knew aromatic materials recognized myrrh as something irreplaceable. The resinoid we supply — dark, warm, and deeply complex — carries all of that history in every drop.

We manufacture this resinoid ourselves, at our own factory in India. Solvent extracted from the dried gum-resin of Commiphora myrrha trees, every batch comes with full COA, MSDS, and SDS documentation. Direct from our factory to you, with no reseller in between.

What Myrrh Resinoid Is

Myrrh Resinoid is not the same as Myrrh Essential Oil. The essential oil is steam distilled and produces a thinner, more volatile material with a different aromatic profile. The resinoid is solvent extracted from the dried gum-resin — a process that captures the full aromatic complexity of the raw material, including the heavier, darker compounds that steam distillation leaves behind. The result is a thick, soft, sticky material that is richer, darker, and more tenacious than the distilled oil — and considerably more valuable as a fixative and base note in fine fragrance.

The Scent Profile

Myrrh Resinoid is warm, dark, and balsamic — with a slightly smoky, medicinal quality and a sweetness underneath that deepens as the material warms. It has a complex, multi-layered character that unfolds slowly — the kind of scent that rewards patience. In a fragrance composition it provides extraordinary depth and fixative power. In aromatherapy it creates an atmosphere that is simultaneously ancient and deeply grounding.

Perfumers describe it as one of the great base materials — darker and more complex than frankincense, with a warmth and tenacity that anchors an entire composition.

The Color and Texture

Pure Myrrh Resinoid is dark reddish-orange to brown — soft, thick, and sticky in texture. This is completely correct and expected for genuine solvent-extracted myrrh resinoid. The color and consistency reflect the full concentration of aromatic resins extracted from the dried gum. It becomes easier to work with when gently warmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Myrrh Resinoid?

Myrrh Resinoid is solvent extracted from the dried gum-resin of Commiphora myrrha trees. It is darker, richer, and more complex than steam distilled Myrrh Oil — capturing the full aromatic depth of the raw resin. One of the oldest aromatic materials in human history — used across Egyptian, Hebrew, Islamic, Ayurvedic, and Middle Eastern traditions for thousands of years.

How is it different from Myrrh Essential Oil?

Myrrh Essential Oil is steam distilled — thinner, lighter, more volatile. Myrrh Resinoid is solvent extracted — thicker, darker, richer, and far more tenacious as a fixative. For fine fragrance work, the resinoid is generally the superior material. For aromatherapy diffusion, the essential oil may be more practical.

Is the dark sticky texture normal?

Yes — completely. Dark reddish-orange to brown, soft, thick, and sticky is exactly what genuine Myrrh Resinoid looks and feels like. It is the full concentration of the resinous compounds from the dried gum. Warm the material gently before measuring — it becomes much easier to work with.

Is this 100% pure Commiphora myrrha?

Yes. Solvent extracted at our own factory in India. COA, MSDS, and SDS provided with every order. No dilution, no synthetic additives.

Excellent quality

Prawdziwa mirra w płynie. Gęsty, lepki, ciemny, wytrawnie pachnący. Można zanurzyć się w świat baśni 1001 nocy z kadzidłami w tle. Bez wątpienia prawdziwy, naturalny, bez syntetycznych dodatków. Uwielbiam ten zapach jak i pozostałe z EOC :)

Soft scented oil

It's very soft and woody scented and it's great on skin for wound care. There are so many benefits using this oil and it's hard to list them all here.

One of my favorites

This oil is very thick and brown. It thins well when mixed with other oils but can be rubbed in alone as well. The smell is so deep. It smells like the best smelling freshly cut wood. It mixes well with so many other oils giving them a deep woody base. My favorite is to mix it with cloves along with a variety of different mixtures, sometimes pine needle or orange or lemon. Mmmmmmmm.....
